About Us

The Lawrence Methuen Community Coalition (LMCC) was founded in 1995 as a coalition of residents and agencies coming together to share information, support and resources for families in Greater Lawrence. Components of LMCC include Community Connections; FYI (Families and Youth Initiative) PATCH; Massachusetts Opioid Abuse Prevention Collaborative (MOAPC); Substance Abuse Prevention Collaborative (SAPC); and Drug Free Communities.

The mission of LMCC is to provide an accessible continuum of services that fosters and preserves the health, safety and well-being of individuals and families, thus supporting communities in following the principles of Family Support, the prevention of substance abuse, the prevention of child maltreatment and increasing awareness of the prevention of domestic and family violence. LMCC serves the communities of: Andover, Haverhill, Lawrence, Methuen and North Andover.

The current components of LMCC in 2022 are Community Connections; Families and Youth Initiative (FYI)/PATCH; Drug Free Communities (DFC); Overdose Data To Action (OD2A); Massachusetts Collaborative for Action
Leadership and Learning (MassCALL3); and, MassHEAL (Helping to End Addiction Long-term) Study Project through partnership with Boston Medical Center and Boston University - HEALing Communities Study (HCS HEALing) Substance Misuse Prevention – MassHEAL Study Community Coordinator.

Our Team

Coming together from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences, our skilled team of professionals is the backbone of Lawrence Methuen Community Coalition (LMCC). Their ideas help shape the direction and mission of our organization. Read on to learn more about some of our incredible team members.

Harold Magoon

Director LMCC

Harold Magoon was the founder of LMCC (Lawrence/Methuen Community Coalition) as of April 1996.

Initially, Harold considered himself a Coalition Coordinator and at that time was the only employee. Over the course of the history of the coalition, Harold along with many neighborhood leaders, were able to grow the coalition into the areas of child abuse prevention; violence and crime prevention; and later, substance abuse prevention.

Jacqueline (Jacquie) Chamberlain

Administrative Assistant

Jacquie joined LMCC on April 4, 2016, to assist in our efforts to support the community in which we live and work. Initially hired to support our Director, Harold Magoon, she gradually learned about each of our programs and offered to contribute wherever she could to ensure the programs could work together.

Grace Corporan

Site Director, FYI/PATCH (Families and Youth Initiative)

My job is to keep the center operating at its maximum capacity. Providing customers with a family environment, free of social prejudices, where they feel confident and can receive a service of excellent human and professional quality.

Madeline Maldonado

Family Advocate, FYI/PATCH (Families and Youth Initiative)

I have over twenty years’ experience working as an administrative assistance and in the human services field. My passion and motivation are helping families in my community. I strongly believe in our mission at Lawrence Methuen coalition to create community ownership and pride. We at patch have this saying small office with a great big heart.

He worked for Families & Youth Initiative as a volunteer in 2018, for the City of Lawrence as an

Engineer intern, and has a bachelor's degree in Civil engineering.

His passion motivates him to always serve to provide a safe and healthy environment for the community and its people.

He believes that LMCC is a family created to help and make the community a better place.
